The Contribution of SAT to empower Rural Women in Theni District was identified as the research topic because, had it not been for the Congregation of St.Anne, the rural society might not have encountered social, economic and educationalliberation of women in awider scale. The main Apostolate of St. Anne’s Congregation, Trichirapalli, has established educational Institutions for the poorest children, Homes for the orphans, emancipation programmes for the rural women, rehabilitation programmes for the widows and the special children and this work aims to bring outtheir generous acts to the public domain.
